Pre-registered couples celebrating their 25th and 50th wedding anniversaries will participate in a special Mass on Sunday, Oct. 18 at 2 p.m.
The Archdiocese Family Life Ministry is coordinating the event and reports about 80 couples have registered. Celebrated by Daniel Cardinal DiNardo, this year’s Mass provides an opportunity for Catholic couples married in 1970 and in 1995 to commemorate the Sacrament of Matrimony.
Cardinal DiNardo said, “Marriage is lifelong. It’s meant for us to stay in loving union with each other” and God as a Sacrament.
The joint Mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. at the Co-Cathedral of the Sacred Heart and attendance is limited by pre-registration only. The Mass will be livestreamed online at www.archgh.org/live.
Due to Covid-19 concerns, those celebrating 50th anniversaries are asked to celebrate via livestream. Media are also asked to view via livestream.
Cardinal DiNardo shared a message about the importance of the Sacrament of Matrimony ahead of the Jubilee Mass.
